Holidays : a time to review your fitness business?

During these quiet days of the holidays many in the fitness industry think that since business is slow that they can just coast till the end of the month. However as many find out it can just be the calm before the storm. During these days it is a great time to reflect on the past year and to do some fitness business planning for the year to come.

Do you have any idea what aspect of your business brought you in the most revenue? Did you have any areas that actually decreased this quarter? Do you have any idea why? Running a successful fitness business is more than just depositing the money into the bank account. Having the data that will allow you to compare, identify and analyse your fitness business will allow you to chart a pathway to success.

So when is the best time to do this. When you are busy? Absolutely not! Your ability to focus and give your business your full attention can be best during the slow times of the year.
If you are spending some time at your business during this period, rather than just coasting, why not make use of this time.

Some things you may want consider are:

  1. Plan for the upcoming year
  2. Break up the year into quarters
  3. Plan your marketing strategies for at least the first 2 quarters
  4. Review the past year and identifying areas that brought increases revenue and areas that decreased in revenue. Then find out why and make any necessary changes
  5. Think of  new innovative ways to create new revenue
  6. Review your current fitness business  management systems and determine their level of effectiveness.
