Fitness Business | Want More Customers? Be a Customer!

If you want to gain more customers to your fitness business then follow this simple piece of advice; Be your customer. In order for you to understand what your potential fitness client is feeling you will need to understand what it is like to be them.
I see two ways to accomplish this and I highly recommend that you do one and if possible both.
- Hire a person in the fitness industry to teach you something you do not know. For example, if you are a yoga teacher you may not know how to use a kettle bells so hire a coach to teach you. What this does is takes you out of your fitness element and puts you in the shoes of your potential fitness customer’s mind set. It is critical that you do this not to learn how to sell but to understand your customer’s fears.
- Doing another form of exercise is not always enough to truly put you outside your element because let’s face it you love fitness so swinging a kettle bell may be fun for you. Reach deep down and go out and hire a coach or instructor to teach you something completely new! This could be a business coach, music lessons, learning a new language or one of my favourites singing or dancing lessons.

If you are already making up excuses as to why you cannot do these two simple things then congratulations you have become your client. |
The next step? You need to overcome your own excuses, make yourself uncomfortable and go hire a person to teach you something new. This you will allow you to relate better to your fitness business customer and even give you something to share with them about your experience learning a new thing.
Learning what your fitness business customer experiences when they think about getting started working with you will go far in giving you new knowledge of how to get new customers and keep them.
